Fibre reinforced materials

The fifth international speciality conference titled, 'Fibre reinforced materials' incorporating fibre reinforced concrete, polymers, plastic, glass, body armour and other additives will be held from August 28-29, 2008 at Singapore.

The term 'Fibre Reinforced Materials' encompasses many generic forms of reinforcement; both internally and externally of structural members or components. This conference invites papers on Fibre Reinforced Polymer, Fibre Reinforced Concrete, Fibre Reinforced Plastics and other types of reinforcement that are continuously being developed around the globe to improve the performance of materials. Papers addressing the following topics are eminently suitable for this conference to be held in one of the most dynamic cities in Asia:

  • Constitutive relationship
  • Failure mechanisms and mechanical properties
  • Types of fibres, natural, polypropylene, steel, glass organic, etc
  • Reinforced materials subjected to static, dynamic, impact and shock loading
  • Test methods and specification of fibre reinforced materials
  • Durability and long term performance
  • High strength fibre reinforced materials
  • Analytical and numerical simulation studies on FRM
  • Fibre reinforced shotcrete for underground tunnels and slope stabilisation
  • Design and economic consideration
  • Experimental techniques on FRM
  • Methods of fabrication for cast-in-place construction, precast products
  • Applications : Special structures, housing, civil engineering construction, repair, protection materials, body armour and case studies.
