Roof and cladding
India 2008
Asia's largest event
for roofing, cladding and allied
products will be held from April
25 - 27, 2008 at Chennai.
India is today the
2nd fastest growing major economy
in the world. A booming economy
and the ever-growing middle class
has kick started all industry sectors
including the construction and infrastructure
industry. The airport modernisation
/ new airports projects, 2010 commonwealth
games, metro rail, new hotels /
serviced apartments / resort projects,
IT parks, SEZs, industrial city
/ parks, retail malls, hypermarkets/
multiplexes, integrated townships,
etc are the buzzwords today in the
booming Indian construction and
Infrastructure industry. The economy
of India is the 4th largest in the
world as measured by purchasing
power parity (PPP), with a GDP of
US$ 3.63 trillion. India's US$ 12
billion real estate market is expanding
at an annual rate of 30 percent.
Analysts at Merrill Lynch predict
that the real estate market will
grow to US$ 90 billion in 10 years.
The 2010 commonwealth games will
be held in New Delhi which will
fuel the need for major infrastructure
projects, stadiums, real estate
projects, etc in the national capital
region (NCR). Greenfield airports
and ports will attract the need
for specialised structures like
pre-engineered buildings (PEBs),
hangars, large factory sheds, etc.
The construction of metro rail networks
in Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad
and Ahmedabad are to commence shortly.
Such metro rail networks are also
being planned for cities like Chennai,
Kochi and Kolkata. With a booming
domestic / international tourist
traffic in India, the growing demand
for hotel rooms has led to the announcement
of many hotel / resort projects
not only in metro cities but also
in II-tier and III-tier cities.
The IT / ITES and BPO boom has changed
the horizon of many Indian cities
and towns with mega multistoried
IT / software parks and integrated
townships. SEZs, biotech parks,
industrial cities / areas, agro
parks, gem & jewellery parks,
apparel parks and other such specialised
commercial and industrial spaces
are also being launched/promoted
by big business houses and real
estate promoters. The new found
prosperity has changed the way Indians
spend, with the result that malls,
multiplexes and hypermarkets are
mushrooming all over the country
to cater to the consumerist trend
in Indian lifestyle.
'Roof and cladding
India 2008' will provide an ideal
platform for companies involved
in roofing and allied products to
be part of India's booming construction
and infrastructure industry and
showcase the latest trends in roofing,
cladding and allied technologies.
The 3-day international exhibition
would have 120+ exhibitors from
all over India and abroad and there
is also 2-day concurrent conference
featuring industry experts.
The conference will
provide an opportunity for the participants
/ delegates to deliberate on issues
/ trends related to the roofing,
cladding, PEBs, façade engineering,
roofing insulation, tensile membranes,
waterproofing and allied products.
The exhibition would
cover roofing systems, cladding,
structural glazing, curtain walling,
architectural facades, metal building
systems, skylights & skydomes,
waterproofing, insulation, tensile
membranes, roofing machinery, etc.
The event is targeted
at architects & designers, builders,
civil & structural engineers,
contractors, consultants, property
developers, large warehouse &
factory builders / owners, oil &
petrol retail companies, sports
stadium authorities, aerospace &
space organisation personnel, defence
personnel, amusement park owners,
