The OME is an innovative “living building” created by Newcastle and Northumbria Universities under the Hub for Biotechnology in the Built Environment. Situated on Newcastle University’s campus, it combines laboratory and residential spaces to test sustainable biotechnologies, including bio-based materials, microbial systems, and eco-friendly waste management for future sustainable living.
