The International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials,
Systems and Structures

RILEM TC REPoRT
In the framework of impact and explosion, there are many specific
experimental devices all over the world, which have never been thoroughly
compared and connected. There is the need to develop a stronger link
between the worldwide existing experimental laboratories that have specific
devices, often not fully used. These are the motivations that triggered the
establishment of RILEM TC IEC “Impact and Explosion” in 2018, a RILEM-fib
joint committee. This TC has recently finalised a report titled “Experimental
devices harvest for impact and explosion testing of materials and
structures”, available for free here: www.bit.ly/2O78R2B.

RILEM 75 AnnIvERSARY
RILEM is turning 75 in 2021! The celebration of this important anniversary will
be held in Paris, France, from 6 to 10 April 2021 at the Hotel Pullman Paris
Bercy. The event will include the 4 RILEM Spring Convention, with RILEM

Standing Committee and Technical Committee meetings, a Symposium on
“Early age and long term crack width in RC structures”, another Symposium
on “Earth-based materials” and a whole day event with presentations on the
following topics:
• CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND RESEARCH
• SUSTAINABILITY & FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION
• STRATEGY & PERSPECTIVE OF RILEM

followed by a gala dinner at the Pavillon Bercy, Musée des Arts Forains.
